Every once in a great while, our family will attempt to do something "fun". It quite usually ends up in chaos, as does everything else our family tries to do.
The most recent attempt, was a trip to Cabela's Outdoors Store, in Dundee. No one wanted to go. But hey, it's "family fun" so we were told to have fun, whether we wanted to or not. Classic ;]
The car ride was at least an hour. An hour of fighting, screaming, whining, and "fun". What's not to love? Once we got there, everyone was cranky, tired, and hungry. Not exactly Happy Campers. We walked in the huge store, and immediately Dad was missing. He left to go roam the store, dreaming about spending money he doesn't have. We gave him that luxury. So the rest of us walked through the aquarium, looked at kayaks, and examined the great mountain filed with dead animals. After walking around for 45 minutes, we all collapsed in the bed and furniture section. We wanted to leave, but we didn't want to give up on the fantasy that we actually could do something together as a family. As well as, no one felt like getting up and finding Dad. I'm pretty sure a few of us actually fell asleep. If anyone else has a big family, they know that it's difficult to find an activity that can please many people of many different ages. Dad is almost 50, and Elizabeth is 5. Which definitely makes things hard. I don't know who came up with the idea that going to a hunting store would satisfy all of us, but it was definitely interesting.
Finally, it was time to leave! We trudged out of the store and made one last stop at the big bear statues in the parking lot. It's safe to say that everyone was even more cranky and eager to leave than when we got there in the first place. On the ride back, there was more fighting than before. Just about everyone was yelling. At which point I (being the awesome one ;]) felt the need to yell over everyone "I JUST LOVE BEING WITH MY FAMILY. ITS SO MUCH FUN", at which point everyone realized how ridiculous we were really being, and we were able to take a step back and simply laugh. Amidst all the bad attitudes and exhaustion, we were amused at ourselves. We had created another memory together. Another day that defines my family.
This is my family, and I swear I am adopted.

My other "family" is my group of bestfriends. They are all so awesome, I'm pretty sure I couldn't live without them, so it's only natural to write about them here.
Rachel Saum(14)- Rachel is my very very best friend! Apparently her mom was my gymnastics coach when i was 4, so I guess we've known each other ALL our lives, even though I don't remember seeing her at ALL until Maranatha last year. Ever since then, we talk all the time and we're closer than sisters. But she lives in Grand Rapids, which is three hours away. :( But nevertheless, she is the best. <3
Paul Cupp(15)- Paulie is awesome. He's just about my best best best friend too. And naturally I guess we've known each other all out lives. But we never really talked until 2(?) summers ago. Now i go to him for just about everything (when we have a chance to talk that is.) He's undoubtedly one of my favorite people in that world. Pretty convinced i couldn't live with out him <3
Kristen Abicht(15)- Kristen is amazing, and I'm pretty fricken happy that we're friends. We met last year at co-op. Pretty much we instantly hit it off. But we only got to see each other once all summer.... :( And then God told her to go to public school.... but she doesn't go anymore. :] love herr <3
Carey Ann Spencer(14 almost 15;])- Carey Ann is a beaasssttt! known her since before she was born, our parents were friends before they even got married. But yet, again, we weren't friends until last school year when we started hanging out at basketball and co-op. Now she's become one of my best friends. :]
Connor Waldo(16?)- Connor is strange, but he's also amazing, thats why he's one of my best friends. I've known him since i was about four too. He's ridiculous but believe it or not he DOES have the capability to be serious... sometimes.... ;]
Simeon Kraft(17)- He is my master-sense-elder-master-of-awesomeness. (or something like that). I met him about a year ago at co-op, he was in every single one of my classes, he was definitely the smartest person in all them too. He kept everyone alive in biology with questions like "can bananas grow arms?". He's definitely very unique. And i have a bad habit of calling him Isaac >_<
Well I think that's just about all the important people... well not really. I have a lot of bestfriends, but these are the ones I care about the most (yes i do play favorites). This my "family".
And I swear, they're all adopted. ;]

So, I've created this blog to record all the crazy insane things that happen in my family. Maybe through this, you will get a few laughs.... Okay if you don't get laughs from this, you must be a real stick in the mud... Just sayin'. ;]
First, I think I should give you some background on my family.
We've moved just about every two or three years since I was born in March, 1994. Moving is definitely very exciting, but it's pretty hard to pack up and change lifestyles so frequently. We did get a chance to live in Hawaii for two years, that was a real adventure.
Oh I think i forgot to mention, there are 7 kids in my family, 9 people total. Let's look at everyone individually.
Dad(49)- Dad is an Airline Pilot for Delta (previously NorthWest) Airlines. This makes life pretty interesting since his work schedule is never set in stone, he can go weeks with out working and then be called out for days, with a few hours notice. Another interesting fact, time is relative to my dad, we'll be at a party or some event and he'll tell us we'll be leaving in five minutes, now "five minutes" can mean 45 mins, two hours, or two minutes.
Mom(47)- Mom works full time at home. She does just about everything (hence the title "mom"). She's the one everyone goes to for everything. She definitely deserves more vacation time then we really give her. Life is particularly hard for her too, because she's allergic to gluten and dairy, which are in just about everything. She is awesome.
Danielle(21)- Danielle is going to school in Pasadena California. She really likes purple...... and.... uhmm I don't really know what else to say about her. She has a boyfriend, Dan Morgan, they plan on getting married in a few years, moving to Texas, and having 18 children.
Daniel Morgan(18)- OK well Dan isn't really related to us, but he comes around a lot so he's definitely going to be mentioned quite a few times. Dan has about three cars, he's a creeper, he likes guns, and he's fat:] That's it..... ;]
Mark(19)- Mark doesn't live with us anymore, but I figure he's still a part of the family. He lives somewhere in Ypsilanti, and has a job in computer security. He moved out over a year ago, but he still comes around once every so often.
Samantha(me, 15)- I'm pretty ridiculous so they tell me. I'm probably the most outgoing person in my family and I'm also the weirdest... yeah for sure the weirdest. I love music and being with friends. You'll get to know me a lot better though. ;]
Lisa(13)- Lisa loves cats and horses and watching TV. She's definitely the sweetheart of the family though because whenever one of us is sick, she takes it upon herself to serve us and get us whatever we need. Which is definitely very nice. Oh and.... *cough cough* She's very blonde *cough cough*
Ruth(11)- Ruth is..... Ruth.... she's very driven... maybe too much. When she wants to do something, she gets it done. One of the most common sounds we hear around here is *smack/punch* "OWWW RUTHH!!!!" "I didn't mean to hit you THAT hard", it's all very dramatic. She's also a very good writer.
Jack(9)- Jack loves his computer, its basically his favorite thing to do. But when he's not playing video games, he can be pretty hilarious. He also has some strange notion that he only has to shower once a month. But he's all around, awesome.
Princess Elizabeth(5)- Elizabeth literally thinks that she IS a princess. She has a hard time distinguishing fantasy from reality. She's also a HUGE flirt, she just loves boys, and boys love her. It will be interesting to see what she's like when she 13.....
Well that's just about everyone in my family.... stay tuned for ridiculous stories about how insane our life it. But on one last note... I swear, I'm adopted.
